Jacob Minks is a bassist and jazz composer and arranger based in Virginia studying Music Composition and Jazz Studies at James Madison University. As a highschool student Jacob recived awards in the chantilly jazz festival for best rhythm section member and won a placement in all state orchestra and all state jazz ensemble. During his time in high school he studied with Corcoran Holt -bassist for Kenny Garrett and Wynton Marsalis- currently Jacob is studying with JMU composition professor Eric Guinivan and bass professor Sam Suggs.
